Decided to Finally Get Up An Affiliate Blog

March 24th, 2010 by NdeJonge | Print Decided to Finally Get Up An Affiliate Blog

I’ve been reading many of the top poker affiliate blogs for several months now and I finally decided to create my own.  I’m planning to use this blog to track my successes and failures, which will hopefully inspire new affiliates to try to make some money online.  I’m also hoping that this blog will keep me motivated to success in the online gambling industry and to continue to explore new niches.

How I Got To This Point

Some of you who will be reading this probably already know a little bit about me, but I’ll take this opportunity to just give a brief overview of my life as an affiliate so far.

When I started at the University of Ottawa about 4 years ago I was really into poker and I was making some ok money just playing poker online.  I think this is how a lot of people got started in the poker affiliate industry and I was no different.  I knew there was money to be made as a poker affiliate so from here I made my first online poker forum (which is now long gone) and ran freerolls, while also trying to get my players to sign up at new poker rooms.

This was a lot of fun, but I still had no clue about how to be a successful poker affiliate because I hadn’t yet found PAL (or PAP or PAW, whatever was the place to be at the time).

After I had closed down my forum I was still trying to get my friends to sign up at poker rooms to collect the CPA’s, etc.  I then stumbled upon Poker Affiliate Programs and I was hooked.  I now am always surfing Poker Affiliate Listings (the new place to be), to try to stay up to date on the happenings of the poker affiliate industry and to work with the other members to improve our sites.

I would still call myself a small affiliate, but I’m continuing to grow.  I’ve been moving into the sports betting industry over the past year and I now have close to 40 sites in online gambling.  I’ve also been starting to test the waters of online movie sites with cpalead.  So far I’ve had fairly good results (I’ll be looking at this in my next post).

Why I Do It

I absolutely love being an online entrepreneur.  I always planned to work for myself, as I did pretty well all through high school and I love the challenge and freedom of running my own business.  So I’m planning to be around for a while!

Check back for posts often as I plan on updating about 2 times a month.  I’ll be updating with tips, observations, goals and anything else I can think of.
